At the end of the Boxing Day games we were tenth in the table with 26 points. Ahead of us were teams like Everton, Watford and Crystal Palace. Martinez and Flores gone, has Pardew been saved by getting to the FA cup final because Palace's league form has been dire this year?

He has said there was a disagreement with the club as to how the season has gone and the future direction.
They have never been in relegation danger and made the FA Cup semi final.
Seems he COULD go to Leeds or back to Valencia

There's quite a few Watford supporters who aren't surprised with this. I thought he's done a decent job looking at it from the outside.
It just goes to show that you don't mess with the DUCKSBERET.

Shame that. He's one of the few PL managers I like. Probably lost his job because of Ighalo's poor form in the last few months.

It seems as if he seemed fine about it all, so not much to see hear for me.
I highly doubt Everton would be interested.

I only know one Watford fan but I think the media and the wider footballing world calling this a bad decision is akin to everyone criticising us for wanting Sam out.
Their fans appreciate that he kept them up and the cup run but also felt that his playing style was fixed in stone and he would never change the playing style to suit the game. They feel he got found out about Christmas and a lot of the fans want more exciting football, less negative tactics and a plan B
I don't think we are in any position to criticise them for this so if the fans are mostly happy with this then it's the right decision. I'm sure all the wankery media will tell them 'beware what you wish for' so even just for that I wish Watford well.

Strange. Newly promoted club who surpassed expectations to finish 13th, I'd be looking to keep him there. Yes they fell away towards the end but its really something to part with a manager whose delivered relative success overall.

13th in the league and an FA Cup semi final...that's a tough boss. Blimey what punishment would have befallen Roeder or Grant if they'd been in charge at our place? :-)

Good grief, some of us have short memories, this is EXACTLY what people were saying about us last season finishing 12th with Sam.
Can't see Watford fans in all out revolt about this. They want better football, more flexibility in the style and a chance to push on, this is West Ham mark 2 from last season.
